About YWCA Enterprising Women Project
Our YWCA project provided support to low-income women to help them create and implement their business plans. Students act as teaching assistants for an entrepreneurship course offered by the YWCA Center in downtown Pittsburgh
The main feature of this project was the Micro-enterprise Symposium that encouraged the women to pursue micro-financing options. 61 women attended, as the project held 9 different interactive workshops. Topics included guerrilla marketing, branding, and advertising.
According to our survey, 100% of the women said they would return to the symposium and would recommend the event to others. The symposium was featured in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette among other publications, generating nearly to 31 million gross impressions.
