About Nicaragua Project

In the community surrounding Leon, Nicaragua, we wished to: impart entrepreneurship skills to local business owners, establish a micro-equity initiative, and help restructure a rural women's cooperative business.

Following through with last year‘s business education and capital infusion program in Leon, the Nicaragua project implemented a three-day, 12 hour workshop curriculum. Students taught the basics of financialaccounting and marketing to a total of 10 aspiring entrepreneurs.

The project worked with them one-on-one to address their specific needs and will continue to follow up with these businesses going forward as we have done in the past. We also built a community center that will serve as a hub for 60 women part of a rural women‘s cooperative business.
