About Global Threads
Global Threads aims to raise fair trade awareness, while seeking connections for global artisans who struggle to earn a living in their remote villages. These artisans are talented individuals who lack market access and resources to earn sustainable incomes.
Last year, Global Threads partnered with 6 non-profit organizations, including Bright Hope International, 10,000 Villages, and Mercado Global, all of which allowed the project to impact artisans in 15 different countries.
Global Threads sold the artisans‘ goods in a four-day silent auction on Carnegie Mellon‘s campus. The auction raised proceeds of $1,200 which were sent directly to the artisans.
