About Us

The purpose of Global Economy is to educate and inspire elementary and middle school students to value free Enterprise and the global economy. The distinct feature of the project is the use of hands-on experiences and interactive material to help children understand the economics of life. In 2008, our Global Economy project touched the lives of 250 students in 20 classrooms in 7 different countries. The program developed by Carnegie Mellon University's SIFE team has even been incorporated in the permanent curriculum of an elementary school in Taiwan.

In 2009, we are aiming to expand global economy beyond the boundaries of workshops and presentations. We have created an online game where children can test their knowledge of the basic economics and currencies from around the world.

Furthermore, we are expanding our target audience to adults as well. In conjunction with Project Nicaragua, we are aiming to teach small business owners in Nicaragua about the economy of their country. This way, they can alter their business model according to economic problems they may face.
